Privacy Policy

Short version: We collect standard anonymous analytics (page views, country, browser) via Google Analytics. We display ads via Google AdSense. Your color searches and tool usage never leave your browser. We don't collect personal data unless you contact us.

Coloripedia ("we," "us," "our") is operated by Paweł Celiński, based in Poland. We can be reached at the address on our Contact page.

Coloripedia is the data controller for any personal data collected through this website.

2. What data we collect

Analytics data (Google Analytics 4)
We use Google Analytics 4 to collect anonymized usage statistics, including: pages visited, time spent, general geographic region (country/city), browser type, device type, and referral source. IP addresses are anonymized before storage. This data helps us understand how the site is used so we can improve it.

Advertising data (Google AdSense)
We display advertisements served by Google AdSense. Google may use cookies and similar tracking technologies to serve personalized ads based on your browsing history across sites. You can opt out of personalized advertising at adssettings.google.com.

Contact messages
If you contact us via our contact page or by email, we collect your email address and the content of your message in order to respond.

What we do NOT collect
We do not collect: search queries entered on the site, colors you look up, images you upload to the Image Color Picker, or any data entered into our conversion tools. All tool processing happens locally in your browser.

3. Legal basis for processing (GDPR)

Under GDPR, we process data on the following legal bases:

Legitimate interests (Article 6(1)(f)): Analytics data to understand site usage and improve the service.
Consent (Article 6(1)(a)): Personalized advertising cookies via Google AdSense, where applicable.
Contractual necessity (Article 6(1)(b)): Contact messages, in order to respond to your inquiry.

4. Cookies

We use the following categories of cookies:

Essential cookies: None. The site functions without any essential cookies.

Analytics cookies: Google Analytics sets first-party cookies (_ga, _gid, _ga_*) to distinguish users and track sessions. Retention: 2 years (_ga), 24 hours (_gid).

Advertising cookies: Google AdSense may set third-party cookies for ad targeting and frequency capping.

You can control cookies through your browser settings or via the Google opt-out tools linked above. Disabling analytics cookies will not affect site functionality.

We share data with the following third parties:

7. Data retention

Google Analytics data is retained for 14 months (our configured retention window).
Contact messages are retained for as long as necessary to resolve your inquiry, then deleted.
There is no other personal data we retain.

8. Children's privacy

Coloripedia is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, contact us and we will delete it.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. Continued use of the site after a change constitutes acceptance of the updated policy. For material changes, we will display a prominent notice on the site.
